Christine Ralston graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Voice from the University of Iowa School of Music in 2001. After working as a junior high and high school music teacher, she returned to school to study law and urban and regional planning, graduating from the College of Law in 2007 and the School of Urban and Regional Planning in 2008. While in law school, Christine was the Senior Note and Comment Editor for the Journal of Gender, Race & Justice. Upon graduation, she researched state-level public policy issues at the non-profit, non-partisan Iowa Policy Project. Her work there focused on employment and environmental issues. Most recently, she ran her own mediation practice and was adjunct lecturer at the School of Urban and Regional Planning teaching conflict resolution in the urban planning context.
