Thursday, April 6, 4 p.m., Levitt Auditorium, Boyd Law Building
This event is free and open to the public.
The University of Iowa College of Law is pleased to welcome Gary Born, Chair of WilmerHale’s International Arbitration Practice Group, to speak on “BITs, BATs, and Buts: Reflections on International Dispute Resolution.” Born is widely regarded as the world’s preeminent authority on international commercial arbitration and international litigation. His lecture is the Spring 2017 James Fraser Smith Lecture. The lecture owes its name to a donor from Iowa Law’s Class of 1950, James Fraser Smith. Mr. Smith has enjoyed a long and successful practice in Charles City and established the lecture to educate Iowa Law students and members of the wider community on issues faced by litigators.
