Before coming to the University of Iowa in 2005, Ted Potter was the Associate Director at the Marquette University Law Library, was Head of Public Services at the University of Toledo Law Library (UTLL), and prior to that, served as the Acquisitions/Serials Librarian at UTLL. Professor Potter provides reference service, and teaches Advanced Legal Research, as well as guest lectures in the Legal Analysis, Writing, and Research course.

During the Fall 2021 semester, he will be teaching Technology in Law Practice.
