Through the University of Iowa’s Together Hawkeyes Campaign, you can invest in the next generation of law-trained leaders by supporting student success and advancing excellence in teaching and scholarship. Explore priority areas:

Student Scholarships

Iowa Law is committed to attracting great students and producing talented new legal professionals. Your scholarship support helps persuade our strongest applicants to join us here in Iowa City and allows students to fully engage in their law school experience.

“The College of Law Scholarship Fund made pursuing my career aspirations possible. I feel very grateful to have been able to explore so many areas of public interest law with financial backing. I know that the skills I gained through all these opportunities will serve me well in my next chapter as a public defender.”

Experiential Learning

At Iowa Law, students don’t just study the law—they practice it. From representing clients in clinics to competing in Moot Court and gaining experience through internships and externships, students develop critical professional skills. Your support ensures these experiences are accessible to more students by helping offset costs and expanding opportunities beyond the classroom.

Legal Writing

As The Writing Law School,℠ Iowa Law embodies a commitment to excellence in written advocacy and scholarly conversation. Your gift supports our four student-edited journals, each of which has earned a strong national reputation. Your gift also helps advance the work of the Iowa Law Writing Center, which helps students learn and polish the essential writing skills they need to be successful law students and professionals.

“The Writing Center has been such a joyful part of my law school experience. The Center’s services helped sharpen my legal research and writing skills, and now, as a tutor, I have the opportunity to accompany others as they develop and refine their legal papers.”

Faculty Support

Faculty members are the backbone of Iowa Law, driving excellence in teaching, scholarship, and mentorship. Your gift helps retain and recruit top faculty talent and ensure they have the resources they need to succeed.

“The Law Faculty Support Fund enables College of Law faculty to devote time to focus specifically on legal research projects. For example, the fund recently enabled Joe Yockey, the F. Arnold Daum Chair in Corporate Law, to explore the implications of generative AI for universities in ‘Algorithmic Tenure,’ forthcoming in the Georgetown Journal of Law & Public Policy.”

Facilities and Capital Projects

Building updates and capital projects are crucial in ensuring that the Boyd Law Building remains conducive to academic excellence. Your support helps modernize classrooms, integrate new tech, and create collaborative learning spaces that enhance the student experience for generations to come.

Mental Health and Wellbeing

Learning how to prioritize mental health and wellbeing is essential in preparing students for the rigors of legal practice. Your support helps fund the work of a dedicated staff therapist who provides individual student consultations, and who leads engaging programming that equips students with tools to manage stress and thrive in law school and later in their careers.
