Biography

Professor Crouse joined the faculty in 2020. He earned his JD from Georgetown University Law Center in 2004 and was then an associate at Shook, Hardy & Bacon LLP in Washington, DC, where he litigated numerous pharmaceutical, medical device, and consumer action cases.

Between 2011 and 2016, Professor Crouse taught various courses at Hamline University School of Law and then Mitchell Hamline School of Law, including legal writing, advanced torts, and property. Professor Crouse also served as assistant dean of law students and diversity and legal counsel for the university during the combination of Hamline University School of Law and William Mitchell College of Law. After the combination, Professor Crouse was a visiting assistant professor of law and the administrative director of Mitchell Hamline’s blended learning JD program.

Before joining Iowa Law, Professor Crouse was associate general counsel at CryoLife, Inc., a publicly-traded medical device company in Atlanta, Georgia, where he supported the CryoLife board of directors and was instrumental in the $225 million acquisition of a German medical device company and the $350-$450 million option to purchase an Israeli medical device company.
