Technology recommendations for students

Students should have a device that meets the recommendations outlined below and install the required software for electronic examinations and various educational activities. These recommendations are subject to change as the curriculum and technology used in its delivery evolves.

Computing device recommendations

It is recommended that your computer meets or exceeds the following criteria:

Storage (HDD/SSD)256GB or higher. You must have at least 20% free space.
Wireless CardSupports 802.11 n/ac protocols and WPA2 Enterprise
Resolution (Display)1024x768 pixels minimum (scaling set to 100%)
Web CameraAn integrated web camera is best, but an external device may be used.
NotesIf your current device if over 5 years old, you may consider purchasing a new device to minimize technical issues.

Software requirements

ExamplifyExamplify is a required software used to deliver College of Law exams. Students must install and maintain Examplify on their devices for use during exams. Students must pay $35 per calendar year for an Examplify license.
ZoomZoom is licensed by the University of Iowa to deliver online course content and for virtual meetings.
