One Day for Iowa returns on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, celebrating 10 years of Hawkeyes coming together to support what matters most at the University of Iowa.

This 24-hour online giving day is an opportunity for alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends to make a lasting impact—creating scholarships, advancing research, and enhancing the student experience. With special matches and unlock challenges throughout the day, your gift can go even further.

Thanks to the generosity of our alums Maja Eaton (84JD) and Rob Youle (76JD), an additional $50,000 for the College of Law will be unlocked once 125 gifts have been made, including 25 from new donors.

Members of the Iowa Law community can also earn extra funding by sharing their Hawkeye pride with Iowa’s largest audience on Instagram. Visit the @UIowa Instagram account and click on its story to submit your photo. Ten submissions will be randomly selected, each earning $250 in bonus funding for a featured area of the sender’s choice. Don’t forget to tag @uiowalawschool!

At Iowa Law, One Day for Iowa is an opportunity to invest in future advocates and leaders. Consider supporting three funds that directly shape the student and faculty experience.

Iowa Law School Foundation Fund

The Iowa Law School Foundation Fund supports the heart of Iowa Law through recruiting scholarships—its largest focus—while also funding community-building efforts like the Parents and Partners Day and alumni engagement initiatives that keep graduates connected. Here’s how the Iowa Law School Foundation Fund has made a difference in the lives of Iowa Law students:

“The Iowa Law School Foundation is the reason I came to Iowa Law. The financial support they provided was critical to my decision to come to Iowa. My scholarship has given me the freedom to pursue my academic and career interests without the added pressure of taking on massive student debt. For example, I was able to work an unpaid judicial externship during my 1L summer. I believe the Foundation is Iowa Law’s greatest asset, and I am incredibly grateful for the alumni who support it.”

“As an aspiring sports attorney, the Iowa Law School Foundation Fund made a meaningful difference in my law school career. This support allowed me to focus on my coursework and accept an externship with the Iowa Athletics Department; an experience that gave me hands-on experience in college athletics and led to my selection as one of thirty-six interns entering the NCAA Post Graduate Internship Program following graduation. Without the Law School Foundation Fund, I would have needed to take on additional employment, which would have limited my ability to pursue the externship. The Foundation Fund has allowed me to pursue my interests and allowed me to chase professional growth to work towards achieving my goals.”

“Receiving a scholarship from the Iowa Law School Foundation over my three years at Iowa Law has been such a wonderful opportunity. It took away stress over financials, so I could focus on doing well in my classes, leading a large student organization, and being on the editorial board of a journal. I have loved my time at Iowa Law, and I’m so grateful to have received a scholarship along the way!”

“The Iowa Law School Foundation Fund has made a huge difference in my law school journey by easing the financial burden and making a legal education more accessible to students like me. Because of this support, I can focus less on my finances and more fully on my education and professional development. I am so grateful for alumni and donors whose generosity supports the Iowa Law community and helps foster the next generation of lawyers. In the future, I look forward to paying this generosity forward and supporting future Hawkeyes in achieving their law school dreams.”
– Abbie Boeding (27JD)

College of Law Scholarship Fund

Dedicated to recruiting scholarships, the College of Law Scholarship Fund helps attract exceptional students from across the country and ensures a world-class legal education remains accessible to talented future lawyers. Here’s how the scholarship fund has made a lasting impact for Iowa Law students:

I can now start my career on steady footing, without the stress of burdensome student loan payments. Iowa Law has truly struck the balance between excellent legal education, generous financial aid, and a wonderful student body.”

“The College of Law Scholarship Fund made pursuing my career aspirations possible. I feel very grateful to have been able to explore so many areas of public interest law with financial backing. I know that the skills I gained through all these opportunities will serve me well in my next chapter as a public defender.”
– Karlyn Simcox (26JD)

Law Faculty Support Fund

The Law Faculty Support Fund strengthens academic excellence at Iowa Law by providing summer research stipends for faculty and supporting workshops, speakers, and scholarly collaboration that enrich the classroom and advance legal knowledge. Jason Rantanen, associate dean for faculty, shares how the fund helps create opportunities for faculty:

“The Law Faculty Support Fund enables College of Law faculty to devote time to focus specifically on legal research projects. For example, this past summer, the fund enabled Joe Yockey, the F. Arnold Daum Chair in Corporate Law, to explore the implications of generative AI for universities in ‘Algorithmic Tenure,’ forthcoming in the Georgetown Journal of Law & Public Policy.”
