César Rosado-Marzán, the Edward L. Carmody Professor of Law at the University of Iowa College of Law, published a new article in the Georgetown Law Journal. 

The article titled, “From the Margins to the Citadel: Domestic Workers and a New Moral Economy of the Labor Market,” appeared in Volume 114, Issue 6 of the journal. In the article, Rosado-Marzán argues that the domestic workers’ movement offers a compelling model for rebuilding workers' rights in an era of federal retrenchment. Drawing on the successes of Domestic Workers’ Bills of Rights across states and localities, he shows how these reforms do more than extend legal protections, they advance a new labor moral economy grounded in dignity, equity, equality, and democracy. 

While comprehensive federal reform may be politically unattainable in the near term, he contends that advocates can consolidate these gains for domestic workers and leverage them to advance broader reforms when political opportunities arise.
