Professor Nierman is a commercial arbitrator and mediator focusing on insurance and health care disputes. His current research and speaking examine why deception is a losing strategy—undermining judgment, health, relationships, and performance—even when it is never discovered. He has also written and spoken widely on insurance, healthcare, business, negotiation, and arbitration. He is the past president of the American Academy of ADR Attorneys and a member of the Order of the Coif.
