Anton is an English professor emeritus from Chicago's DePaul University, where he taught courses on essay, magazine, and science writing, and one called the Nature of Evil. Anton is a Hawkeye (Writers Workshop MFA, School of Journalism Master's, Professional) and author of five books of creative nonfiction, one of which is the story of an unsolved University of Chicago campus murder and the most recent of which was Programmable Planet: The Synthetic Biology Revolution (2023).
Anton teaches the course Narrative and Law.
