• College of Law Appellate Advocacy Award - Outstanding achievement in appellate advocacy

Named Awards

• Alan I. Widiss Faculty Scholar Award - Outstanding and distinctive scholarly paper
• Robert S. Hunt Legal History Award - Outstanding scholarly paper in the field of legal history
• Donald P. Lay Award - Distinctive contributions to the College of Law community, the College’s educational programs, or the College’s co-curricular programs
• Erich D. Mathias Award for International Social Justice - Outstanding contribution or demonstrated commitment to attaining international social justice
• Judge William Stuart Award - Student in top 10% of class; shows integrity and constitutional principles
• Cain-Love Award - JGRJ student (2L) who has demonstrated a commitment to social justice and is in top half of the class
• Arthur Bonfield Award - 2L or 3L who has demonstrated an aptitude for creative legal scholarships and has interest in the research mission of the College of Law
• Hubbel Award for Excellence in Environmental Law - Demonstrated an outstanding contribution or demonstrated commitment to the field of environmental, natural resources, and energy law
• Judge John F. Murray Award - Highest academic standing in the graduating class
• Russell Goldman Award - Most improved academic performance after the first year
• Michelle R. Bennett Client Representation Award - Outstanding service in the College’s clinic program
• Mark & Marilyn Wunder Commitment to Nonprofit Excellence and Civic Engagement Award - 1L, 2L or 3L student who has demonstrated a strong interest in and dedication to excellence in the nonprofit sector
• Justice Randy J. Holland Award - Best scholarly paper on corporate law
• D.J. Miller Award - Outstanding contribution to the advancement of human rights inthe law school community
• John S. Allen Award for Advancing Social Justice - Honors the legacy of John Allen and his dedicated legal career. This award honors a clinic student who encompasses similar passion and dedication to their work

• Iowa State Bar Association Outstanding Law Student - Exhibited in attitude, ability and service those qualities which make up the most probably successful future leader of the Iowa bar
