University of Iowa College of Law faculty Lorraine Gaynor and Mary Ksobiech presented at the Legal Writing Institute’s biennial conference this July, held at the University of Minnesota Law School. Their presentation, “Mentors Don't Just Grow on Trees: Finding and Cultivating Supportive Relationships as a Newer Professor,” centered on cultivating mentorship and included a panel discussion.
Gaynor and Ksobiech both instruct Legal Analysis, Writing and Research at Iowa Law. Ksobiech is also the Ferguson Carlson Fellow and director of academic success and appellate advocacy.
The duo collaborated with legal writing faculty from the University of Alabama School of Law and held a panel discussion that focused on various opportunities to find support and thrive in mentor relationships, especially as a newer professor.
