Bethany Berger, Allan D. Vestal Chair in Law and associate dean for academic affairs, and Megan Graham, clinical associate professor and director of the Technology Law Clinic, appeared on Iowa Public Radio’s River to River segment to discuss two pending Supreme Court cases that they filed amicus briefs in.
Berger, an expert in Indian Law, talked about how the landmark 1884 ruling in Elk v. Wilkins concerning the citizenship of a Native American man is being incorrectly cited in the Trump administration’s birthright citizenship case.
Graham explained how police use geofence warrants to compel tech companies to hand over data from every nearby phone when a crime occurs, and how she advised the Supreme Court to address the issue.
