Professor Kate Goettel filed an amicus brief to the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals on behalf of two immigration legal organizations

The brief addressed the question of what procedural protections are due to noncitizens detained in mandatory immigration detention.

Their presentations were on AI & ATJ (Sydney) and how commissions engage with criminal fines & fees (Kathryn). Professor Farrell is supervising six students this semester who are conducting research for the Commission as part of a CLP Pro Bono Project. Professor Farrell serves as co-chair of the Commission’s Rural Access Work Group and am a member of two other WGs. Professor Farrell served as a Commissioner for two terms (maximum) from 2016-2022. The Commission is chaired by Justice Matt McDermott.
