What did you do before joining Iowa Law?  My first career was in public accounting with Ernst & Young. Then I moved into banking for about 15 years.

Describe your role at the university. I teach Legal Analysis and Writing to our entering 1L students.

What do you enjoy most about working at Iowa Law? I enjoy our students!

How did you decide to join the legal profession? The law is central to every business relationship. Prior to entering law, I had extensive experience with management, regulatory compliance, business and banking transactions. Every day I knew that my judgment would be improved if I had legal training.

What do you enjoy most working in higher education? I enjoy having the opportunity to see students turn into lawyers before my eyes.

What’s your favorite book, or what are you reading right now and why do you enjoy it? I don't think of reading as a hobby. I ride bike. This summer I will ride from Toronto to Montreal. I crave being outside!

Name a few of your favorite things. I am an artist and enjoy metal smithing and wood carving.
