The Iowa Student Bar Association and Citizen Lawyer Program invite you to to celebrate the pro bono legal work and service contributions of Iowa Law students, faculty, staff, and alumni in conjunction with the ABA's National Celebration of Pro Bono Oct. 20–26 and the Cady Day of Public Service on Oct. 25.
We invite you to take part in any or all of the following events:
- Pro Bono Recognition Event | Monday, Oct. 21, 12:40-1:40 p.m. in 225 BLB (L&L event): Professor Lorraine Gaynor and Iowa Student Bar Association Co-Presidents Jude Hagerman & Nickolaus Cabrera will share remarks on the role of lawyers in society and the importance of public service. We will also recognize AALS Pro Bono Spring Honor Roll nominees, 2024 Pro Bono Society members, and participants in Fall 2024 CLP Pro Bono Projects. Join us for a reception after the event! This event is designated as a Lawyers & Leaders event; please sign in at the event.
- Food Drive | Monday, Oct. 21–Friday, Oct. 25 in the BLB Lobby: Donate nonperishable food items to benefit the University of Iowa Food Pantry.
- Service Appreciation Treats | Monday, Oct. 21–Wednesday, Oct. 23, 11:10 a.m.–2:00 p.m. in the BLB lobby: Stop by the Citizen Lawyer Program table in the lobby for a treat as our way of saying "thank you" for your pro bono work and your community and institutional service!
Video Testimonial Project | Monday, Oct. 21–Wednesday, Oct. 23: Record a short reflection on what you have gained through your pro bono or community service experiences. Sign up between 11:15 a.m.–2:00 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. Drop in to record on Wednesday, Oct. 23 between noon-3:00 p.m., or we will contact you to schedule a time.
