WASHINGTON (June 26, 2025) – On June 21, Venable LLP partner Jim Sawtelle was elected Vice President of the Iowa Law School Foundation (ILSF) by his fellow board members. 

The ILSF helps shape the legal education that students at the University of Iowa College of Law are provided with. The ILSF drives the law school’s strategy in key areas such as alumni relations, fundraising, endowment management, and program support. For nearly a decade, Mr. Sawtelle has served the ILSF Board of Directors as an executive committee member. 

“I am so excited to continue serving the students at the University of Iowa College of Law, alongside my fellow board members, as we endeavor to provide them with a strong legal education,” Sawtelle said. “It is a privilege to be a part of a leadership team made up of such accomplished and esteemed individuals.”
