Kevin Techau (84JD) was recently recognized as a recipient of the 2023 Hawkeye Distinguished Veterans Award. Recipients of the Hawkeye Distinguished Veterans Award have demonstrated a strong University of Iowa connection, honorable service to our country, military accomplishment or contributions, and service to the community. Kevin served in the United States Air Force for seven years as a judge advocate, and deployed twice, both times to Germany. Upon leaving active duty, he joined the Iowa Air National Guard. He retired as a colonel after twenty seven years of service.
