Biography

Professor Kyle-Griffiths has been a lifelong public defender. In Seattle, she was responsible for designing, organizing, and facilitating in-house trainings for all staff in the Department of Public Defense as well as allocating funds for outside training opportunities. While in Boston she was with the Youth Advocacy Division who actively practices holistic juvenile representation based on the Positive Youth Development model.

She has litigated at all levels of criminal practice including death penalty trials, post-disposition and appeals work for children as well as arguing two appeals cases to the Kentucky Supreme court. She has taught investigators, attorneys, mitigation specialists and law students for several years in the areas of sentencing, trial skills, juvenile practice, mitigation and DNA, among other topics.
