Biography

Matthew Warner-Blankenship is a Shareholder and Patent Attorney at Dentons Davis Brown in Des Moines. He specializes in Intellectual Property Law, patent drafting and prosecution, including medical devices, biotechnology and biochemical inventions, trademarks, copyrights, intellectual property litigation, licensing, internet law, assisting entrepreneurs and emerging businesses with IP and business matters.

Before law school, he conducted medical research at Northwestern Medical School in Chicago and the University of Notre Dame in South Bend. His research focused variously on neuroimaging and the molecular underpinnings of Alzheimer’s Disease, as well as hemostasis and scleroderma. 

In addition to teaching for the College of Law he regularly speaks at Drake Law School, the University of Iowa IP Law Society, and also taught intellectual property at the high school level.
