Adjunct instructor Craig Nierman’s article, “Arbitrating Out-of-Network Reimbursement: The No Surprises Act,” has been published in The Health Lawyer, the flagship production of the American Bar Association Health Law Section.

The article analyzes the No Surprises Act, Congress’s landmark legislation protecting patients from surprise medical bills, with particular emphasis on the statute’s mandatory arbitration process for payment disputes between healthcare providers and health plans. It also examines the judicial interpretation of the Act’s arbitration provisions.
