Law Book Club: Stamped

All College of Law students, faculty, and staff are invited to join the UI Center for Human Rights and the College of Public Health in a reading of Stamped from the Beginning: The Definitive History of Racist Ideas in America by Ibram X. Kendi. The book was the winner of the 2016 National Book Award for Nonfiction and has been honored with numerous awards. Kendi was named one of “The 100 Most Influential People of 2020” by Time magazine.

Acknowledging the homelands of tribal nations where the University of Iowa resides

Iowa Law Dean Kevin Washburn and The Native American Council continue to work on its land acknowledgment statement, creating a version that is briefer than their original statement so it can be easily used in classes or before meetings.

Iowa Law reinstates Faculty Fellowship program

The University of Iowa College of Law reinstated the Iowa Law Faculty Fellowship program this year, welcoming Professor Phoebe Jean-Pierre as Visiting Assistant Professor at the College of Law for the 2020-2021 academic year.
