Iowa Law has successfully hired two fellows over the past two years and is in the process of hiring a third fellow to join the faculty in fall 2022. The program provides scholars and teachers with mentoring and career development with the goal of increasing diversity in the legal profession.

From Partner for a Day to making partner at the firm

The Partner for a Day program helps law students connect with practicing attorneys in the field. Eric Fischer (16JD) participated in the Partner for a Day program during his 1L year at Iowa Law. He was hired by his "partner" firm and effective January 1, 2022 he will assume shareholder status at that same firm.

Al Herz feels that Iowa has prepared her for a vast range of career possibilities. “I'm prepared for an international career. But I also feel like if I go out into the world and realize that I miss Iowa, I am also aware of the rural practices. I’m prepared for a big law career, while at the same time I feel like I’m prepared to work at a small practice in Iowa or a public organization.”
